More survey results needed

ELIZABETHTOWN - Adirondack Community Action Programs is once again reminding Essex County residents to fill out their community assessment surveys.

The surveys were sent out at the end of February as a way to gauge people's needs for social services. Survey results are used in determining how various social service agencies, both governmental and otherwise, allocate their resources.

ACAP executive director Alan Jones reports only about 300 surveys have been returned so far, and says many more are needed to validate the survey results.

"This is a chance for people in the community to have a voice," said Jones.

Essex County residents may call ACAP at 873-3207 to request another copy of the survey. Jones estimates it would take roughly five minutes to complete.

The surveys must be returned to the nearest town hall. Only one survey should be completed per household, and must be submitted by March 28.

For those with Internet access, the same survey is available to be completed on-line at www.acapincsurveys.org.
