LAKE GEORGE - Caldwell Presbyterian Church in Lake George has announced a schedule of activities and worship during the season of Lent. Worship at the church each Sunday morning begins at 10 a.m. and will highlight "Our Journey Through Lent." Lent, a season of spiritual revival began on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 25, and lasts through six Sundays.
This year, Caldwell Presbyterian Church is joining each Wednesday with other congregations in Lake George, gathering at 5:30 p.m. for a Communal Supper followed by an Ecumenical Worship Service at 6:15 p.m.
On Wednesday March 11, the service, led by Rev. Shirley Mosholder, will include the video "How Great is Our God" by Louie Giglio. Wednesday evening services will also be held at Caldwell Presbyterian Church on March 18, 25 and April 1 and will be led by Rev. Meredith Vanderminden, Lake George United Methodist Church Pastor.
During Holy Week, there will be a Maundy Thursday service April 9 at Caldwell Presbyterian Church beginning at 7:30 p.m. This service memorializes the Last Supper and the night with Jesus' disciples in the Upper Room. On Good Friday, April 10 at noon, a processional will begin at Sacred Heart Catholic Church's Bible Garden & Peace Path, proceeding to other churches in Lake George and to the courthouse and the lake. Easter Sunday morning, April 12, a Sunrise Service at 6:30 a.m. will be held on Shepard Park's MacDonald Pier. A continental breakfast at Caldwell will be held immediately following the service.
