Girl Scouts hold 1970's era dance

TICONDEROGA - The Ticonderoga Area Girl Scouts held their fifth annual Favorite Fella Dance recently at the Ticonderoga fire house.

Approximately 25 girls and their favorite fella dressed in 1970's attire and danced the night away.

All those present were treated to an evening of 70's food, music and games. This event provided an opportunity for the girls to spend some quality time with their favorite fella.

"The area girl scouts would like to take this opportunity to thank Melody Borho for organizing this event, the Ti fire house for allowing us the use of their facilities, Marc Potter for his time and use of equipment, Riverside Hair Salon for their donation of a kids manicure gift certificate and to Ti Pi for supplying the pizza," said Debbie Barber, scout service unit manager.

The Ticonderoga Girl Scouts' next outing will be an afternoon of bowling at Adirondack Lane on Saturday, March 21.

The girls will also be out delivering all those cookies ordered earlier in January. If for any reason someone did not have an opportunity to order cookies and would like to place an order, it's not too late. Call Kari Michalak, town cookie manager, at 585-2532 after 3:30 p.m.

The area Girl Scouts are always looking for adult volunteers. People interested in becoming a volunteer should call Barber at 585-6876 or Girl Scouts of Northeastern New York at 563-1560.

"Once again, the area girl scouts would like to take this opportunity to thank the community for all of your generosity and support," Barber said.
