Ti in championship game; Moriah, Schroon advance

Ticonderoga will face Seton Catholic in the Section VII Class C boys basketball championship game today at 1:45 p.m. at SUNY-Plattsburgh.

The top-seed in the tourney, the Sentinels had a bye into the final.

Seton reached the final with 62-53 win against Northern Adirondack in the semifinal round Feb. 21.

Alex Fregeau scored 23 points, added five rebounds and four steals to lead the Knights.

Kaleb Gohlke added 16 points, six assists and six rebounds for Seton Catholic, while Tanner LeCuyer, who got into early foul trouble, had 11 points.

Schroon Lake 58, Lake Placid 26

Schroon Lake crushed Lake Placid, 58-26, in the opening round of the Section VII Class D boys basketball tournament Feb. 25.

The Wildcats raced to a 15-8 lead and extended their advantage to 34-13 at the intermission.

Brennan Bush tallied 13 points and Ethan Tyrrell 11 to lead Schroon to a second-round match up with Johnsburg.

Indian Lake/Long Lake 59, Crown Point 41

Indian Lake/Long Lake broke open a close game in the second half to beat Crown Point, 59-41, and advance to the semifinal round of the Section VII Class D boys basketball tournament Feb. 28.

The Orange faced Westport, which beat Bolton, 68-39, in the quarterfinals, in the semifinals Tuesday with the championship game scheduled for noon today at SUNY-Plattsburgh.

Indian Lake/Long Lake led 28-23 at the intermission, but opened the second half with a 22-5 run to claim the victory.

Jeff Reynolds scored 10 of his team-high 23 points in the decisive third quarter. Reynolds went 6-for-6 from the line in the third.

Zack Mitchell added 14 points Orange and Chris Bain had 13 rebounds for the winners.

John Budwick had 25 points to pace Crown Point, which ended its must successful season in recent memory.

Schroon Lake 43, Johnsburg 41
