CROWN POINT - Crown Point residents will have an opportunity to "Savor the Arts" Thursday, March 12.
That's when the Crown Point Central School music department will perform in a coffeehouse-style fundraising event at 6 p.m.
Admission will be $1 with desserts available.
"Musicians in grades 7 - 12 are offering an evening of light entertainment and delectable desserts in a caf setting," explained Jeris French, Crown Point music teacher.
Students will perform Broadway show tunes, movie themes and light classic pieces.
The school band, chorus, orchestra members and guests will perform solos, duets and ensembles, with accompanist Russell Ames.
Also featured will be the CPCS Class Dancers, under the direction of Laura Uhly.
People with a sweet tooth are in for a treat, French said.
"Cheesecakes, pies and specialty cakes will be sold by the serving and also raffled to take home," she said.
Raffle tickets for specialty baked goods will be sold the week of the event and the winners drawn that night.
Students are soliciting baked goods for the show. People interested in donating can call Marie Mesones at 597-9667 or contact French.
"Support the arts at CPCS," French urged.
