Proctor oks town spending

Proctor voters approved $1,382,257 in town spending at town meeting March 2. A hefty $5,206,429 school budget passed by voice vote.

Proctor's $407,533 highway budget was also approved but it passed when a $5,000 increase was turned down. Voters also oked $62,594 for the local library.

Disabled veterans in town got a break with town meeting attendees giving them local tax exemption of up to $40,000.
