NCSPCA 6/27/09

The NCSPCA would like to remind you of its upcoming Open House and Volunteer Appreciation Day on Saturday, June 27th. There is one correction to last week's article - the celebrations will take place at the shelter, located at 23 Lakeshore Avenue in Westport, rather than the Essex County Fairgrounds. This will be a great opportunity for you to see all our resident animals strut their stuff! Maybe you will even take home a furry new family member.

The celebrations will take place from noon to 4 p.m. rain or shine. There will be free hot dogs, chips, and soda, as well as free balloons for children. We will be holding a fundraiser bake sale.

In addition to the above, Invisible Fence of Champlain Valley will be doing demonstrations. They are also offering $100 gift card giveaways and more! There will be an artist available to take orders for oil paintings based on photos of your cherished pets. Finally, there will be cat adoption specials and plenty of dogs and cats hoping to find homes. For more information about the event, please call the shelter at 962-8604.

Our featured pet this week is Ahren, a beautiful, German Shepherd mix who is approximately 3-4 years old and still has a sharp young mind and lots of energy. Ahren likes to learn new things and he is a social butterfly. His soulful eyes and sweet face will charm you into loving him. Ahren is the perfect dog for families with children. He hopes to find a home where he can get lots of attention.

We hope to see you at the Open House next weekend, and tell your friends! Help us make this celebration spectacular.
