Students receive awards for artwork

Poultney High School participated in this year's Vermont Congressional Art Competition. The competition was started originally by former Rep., later Sen., Jim Jeffords and is now under the leadership of U.S. Rep. Peter Welch (D).

The awards ceremony was held at the T.W.Woods Gallery on the campus of Vermont College in Montpelier. This years participants were Shawn Corey-senior, Marissa Zarriello-senior, Chelsea Chesnut-senior, and Katie-Ann Simons-sophomore.

Students received certificates and had their picture taken with Welch. The winning artwork will continue on to the national competition and will hang in the Capitol building for a year.
