ALBANY - The end of a magical season has arrived for the Indian Lake/Long Lake Orange as they fell in the state regional semifinals 5-2 to Schenectady Christian Monday.
"If they made it this far they must be good," Orange infielder Jeff Reynolds said.
Throughout the mystical sectional run, pitcher Jordan Monthony was stellar, leading the team to several vicories.
On Monday, Monthony drove in both of Indian Lake/Long Lake's runs with a two-run homer in the third inning. But the Orange couldn't keep the slim 2-1 lead as Schenectady Christian had seven hits, and stole several bases.
The Orange threatened several times with runners in scoring position, but solid defense by their opponent stymied anymore runners crossing home.
