Vergennes' annual French Heritage Day celebrated Addison County's French-Canadian heritage last weekend. The 400th anniversary of Samuel de Champlain attracted more curious visitors this year than in the past. Here, visitors enjoy a ride in a classic vis vis carriage, also called a sociable. The circa 1840s horse-drawn vehicle toured the Little City's downtown French quarter. Here, it makes a turn off Main Street heading onto North Maple Street.
