Long Lake Library to host preview book sale and antiques appraisal reception

LONG LAKE - The Cornelius Vanderbilt Whitney Long Lake Library will host its Annual Book Sale on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 7- 8 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Long Lake Central School. A special benefit book sale preview reception with local musicians entertainment, refreshments by our local culinary experts and a silent auction will be held on Thursday evening, Aug. 6 from 5 - 8 p.m. Admission is $10 per person.

Ted Comstock, an independent appraiser from Saranac Lake, will return again this year to provide verbal appraisals at the Preview Party. Ted specializes in camp furnishings including old photographs, books, prints, paintings and sporting equipment. A former curator at the Adirondack Museum, he is widely versed in the region's history as well as antiques of all kinds.

Bring in your items for appraisal. Each attendee will be entitled to two free appraisals. Additional items will be appraised for $5 each.

There is plenty of parking in the school parking lot and the building is handicap accessible. Come in and enjoy a fun evening and help support the Long Lake Library.
