Hometown bands rock Tupper Lake

TUPPER LAKE - A free concert for the youth of Tupper Lake will feature two bands native to the town.

Rock groups Abbott Hayes and Limited Time Only will perform in Municipal Park July 17 from 7-9 p.m.

"The reason behind the concert is to bring a little music into the community," said band publicist Faith Bedore, "but also to allow the youth of our community participate."

With both bands donating their time, admission to the concert is free.

"They love playing live music and sharing their work with others," said Bedore.

Abbott Hayes returns to the area after gaining tremendous popularity on tour throughout the Northeast. They have performed for crowds numbering in the hundreds in Boston, New York, Philadelphia, and other major cities.

An independent band, Abbott Hayes describes their music as rock infused with pop, folk, and country. With influences going back five decades, the band attempts to appeal to audiences both young and old.

Claiming mostly punk rock influences, Limited Time Only has performed mainly in the Tri-Lakes region. Though young, the band has at least two years worth of performing under their belts and have even produced their own music videos.

Free prizes donated by local businesses will be given out throughout the evening. For more information, send an e-mail to abbotthayes@live.com.
