Galactic-sized "Star Trek" gets New England premiere

Head to the New England Aquarium's Simons IMAX Theatre at warp speed to see the USS Enterprise's maiden voyage on New England's largest movie screen.

Experience Starfleet's battle against the menacing Romulans larger, louder and more intensely than ever before. With a screen over six stories high and the best cinema sound system in Boston, the Aquarium's Simons IMAX Theatre will show Star Trek: The IMAX Experience through July 31.

The fate of the galaxy rests in the hands of bitter rivals born worlds apart in this incredible story of a young crew's maiden voyage onboard the USS Enterprise. Kirk (Chris Pine) and Spock (Zachary Quinto) are forced to forge an unlikely bond, enabling them to lead their crew to boldly go where no one has gone before. Rated PG-13 for sci-fi action, violence and brief sexual content.

Star Trek will be shown daily at 7 p.m. with a second screening on Fridays and Saturdays at 9:20 p.m. from Friday, July 3 through Friday, July 31.

Admission is $12.95 for adults and $10.95 for seniors and children, ages three to 11-years-old. The Simons IMAX Theatre is located at the New England Aquarium, Central Wharf, Boston.
