Attorney General's office to discuss 'Project Sunlight'

CHAMPLAIN - A representative from Attorney General Andrew Cuomo's office will speak to the Champlain Town Council Tuesday, July 14, at Champlain Town Hall, 729 State Route 9, beginning at 7 p.m. The topic of discussion will be "Project Sunlight," an initiative focused on giving the public increased access to information on governmental decision-making processes.

Glen Michaels, an Assistant Attorney General from Cuomo's Plattsburgh office, will give the presentation.

The Project Sunlight Web site, www.sunlightny.com, is the first of its kind in New York State. The site provides easy access to campaign finance, lobbying, agency contracts, and legislative databases. New Yorkers can visit the Web site to see where their tax dollars are being spent and how their representatives are voting on key issues.

The July 14 presentation is part of Cuomo's broader statewide outreach efforts to inform the public about Project Sunlight and how it can be utilized.

Members of the public are invited to attend this event.
