"Parents can come and shop and their children can sit at the table, which will be supervised, and there will be coloring and other activities for them," said Racette.
As another means to draw crowds, the market will host a performance by The Back Porch Band Saturday, July 25. Racette said she hopes by providing entertainment for market-goers, there will be even more of a reason to stop by.
"I'm really looking forward to them performing. I'm hoping they will draw in a huge crowd," said Racette. "Everyone should check [the market] out and see what we've got out here."
"It's especially important people buy local," Racette added.
Market vendors will accept cash and checks, with some accepting checks from the WIC Farmers' Market Nutrition Program, said Racette. Eventually, Racette said she'd like the market to be able to accept debit and credit cards as forms of payment, however the market currently doesn't have the technology to accommodate that kind of system.
