Looking Ahead

In response to a letter of correspondence from Brother James of the North Country Ministry, the Board moved to provide $1,000 in emergency funding to the Ministry from the town's $25,000 budget reserve.

The funds would provide a measure of relief to the organization as they assist local families with home-heating, food, and transportation needs.

The budget reserve was significantly increased in the 2009 budget, in part to compensate for the Ministry's anticipated shortfall.

In response to the Board's vote to provide the emergency funding, Joel Beaudin, on behalf of Upper Hudson Festivals, Inc., pledged an additional $500 toward the cause.

The next regular meeting of the Johnsburg Town Board will be Feb. 3, 7 p.m., in the Wevertown Community Center.
