The Thurman Town Court will now be in session at 2 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of each month in the court room of the Harris House.
Court sessions will now be presided over by Filomena Riviello, the newly elected Town Justice.
The court office will be open Wednesdays from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The office phone is 623-9660, and the fax line is 623-9678.
Citizens are asked to remember that no phone calls on court matters will be taken on the home phones of the Court Clerk or the Town Justice.
Meals at home for Seniors
Those readers who are finding it difficult to cook their own meals because of illness or disability can obtain some vital help.
The Town of Thurman has a Meals on Wheels program which brings noon-time meals to homebound Seniors.
Those in need of assistance are urged to call Bob Florance at 623-3102.
Parents group offers activities
All moms and preschoolers are welcome from any area town to attend the Mommy & Me program which meets on Wednesdays two times per month at the Youth Building in Thurman.
This program gives the toddlers fun things to do including crafts to make, story time, and supervised social play time.
During these sessions, mothers - and dads - can discuss childhood and baby issues. The next meeting is set for Wed. Jan. 28 at 10 a.m. Call Jennifer at 623-5024 with any questions.
Countryside Adult Home news
Residents and staff at the Warren County's Countryside residential home say Thanks to all the groups and individuals who stopped by for a visit during the holiday season.
During the month of December, a Thurman ladies group stopped by and helped make out Christmas cards. We also had visits from both the Girl Scout and Boy Scout troops and from the local school, the third graders, the Head Start and a group from Warrensburg High School.
