NCAVI receives $400 donation

LAKE PLACID - The North Country Association for the Visually Impaired recently received a $400 donation from the Evergreen Fund, administered through the Adirondack Community Trust. The donor wished to remain anonymous. NCAVI is a non-profit charitable organization that provides services to blind and legally-blind individuals in Clinton, Essex, Franklin, and St. Lawrence counties.

Services provided through NCAVI include: low vision exams, instruction and equipment for daily living skills, help in adjusting to vision loss, education, job placement and instruction for safe, independent travel.

Donna Abair, executive director of NCAVI said the donation will be used to purchase visual aids and adaptive equipment to help individuals with visual impairments remain independent.
