Ashley Boucher scored two goals and assisted on a third to lead her Rutland Raiders to a 7-1 victory over the Woodstock Wasps last Saturday, in Woodstock. Chelsea Hill matched Boucher with a pair of goals, while Chelsea Monaco, Kate Kurchena and Taylor Kresconko added one each to the Raider victory.
Deanna Rodolfy and Danielle Greco shared net duty and combined to make eight saves for Rutland, who improved to 6-4-2 with the win. Kelly McGinty scored for Woodstock who fell to 1-9 on the season. The Raiders out shot the Wasps 40-9, totally controlling the entire contest.
In other girls action last Saturday Gabby Collette scored a hat trick to lead her Union-32 Raiders to an easy 10-2 win over the Mount Saint Joseph Mounties in Montpelier. Jyneva Pickel contributed three assists for the Raiders who out shot their guest by a four-to-one margin. 36 shots to nine. Madison Ackerman and Colleen Shouldice scored for the Mounties. In the net MSJ goalie Katelyn Robertello stopped 26 shots. Union-32 improved to 7-4-1 with the win.
In boys action last Saturday in Rutland the Raiders played and lost a tough game with the Burlington Seahorses. Burlington scored twice in the final 4:30 to convert a 4-4 tie into a hard fought 6-4 win. Nate Wark, who scored the game winner with 4:30 left to play, led Burlington with a pair of goals and an assist. Adam Krol, Steven Ushakov, Logan Bara and Cam Tetrault added single goals for the Seahorses who improved to 6-7 with the win. Justin Delibac made 15 saves in the net to preserve the win.
