Also, previously submitted nominations for people who haven't been chosen, haven't been thrown out, Mazzella said.
"Every year all the applications are reviewed," he said. "If they don't make it in one year, the nomination, it stays in the file and they can be voted on again."
Currently, the school is looking for another committee member. To be considered for the role, a person must be affiliated with the Peru district for a minimum of 20 years, Mazella explained.
Once the winner(s) are chosen, the school has an end of the year Hall of Fame induction ceremony as a a part of the school's annual academic recognition dinner for students. Then, their photograph is mounted on the wall outside the school's auditorium.
