SCHROON LAKE - The Schroon-North Hudson Historical Society's third annual Grace Hudowalski Essay Contest will begin on Feb. l and end April 27.
The contest is open to all students, ages 11-18, who attend or are associated with schools in the towns of Schroon and North Hudson. Students will have the choice of an environmental or historical essay.
The first-place winner in the age 11-14 class will receive a three-week Campership at POKO-Moonshine/Poko-MacCready and second-place winner a $100 savings bond.
The first-place winner in the 15-18 age group will receive $1,000 and second-place $500 and third-place $250.
Materials will be distributed on Jan. 29 and 30 at Mountainside Christian Academy and Schroon Lake Central School.

The contest is sponsored by the 46er Conservation Trust and the Schroon-North Hudson Historical Society.
Awards will be given at the Strawberry Festival on June 21 at the Schroon Lake Boathouse Theater.
