Spend the day with the best in bridal at the annual Plattsburgh Bridal and Fashion Expo

PLATTSBURGH - For the 19th year in a row, Laura's Bridal and College Formals is planning their Bridal Expo to help give brides - and grooms - what could be a one-stop shopping place for their special day.

This year, the expo will be held at the Westside Ballroom, located at 253 New York Road, Sunday, Jan. 11, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., with a second showing from 1-4 p.m.

"Almost anything you would need to plan a wedding is going to be there," said Victoria Heroux, an employee of Laura's Bridal and one of the organizers.

Although Heroux has come across some brides who believe they have everything set for their wedding day, she said the expo is still worth checking out.

"Lots of times, you may think you have everything planned, but you walk away with lots of different ideas of things you can do for the wedding," she explained.

With more than 20 vendors on hand, including deejays, cake makers, jewelers, photographers and even representatives from other wedding venues, the expo has you covered.

Each of the vendors will also have prize giveaways, including a diamond necklace from Perrywinkle's Fine Jewelry, worth $1,000.

"Every vendor gives away things pertaining to them," Heroux said. "Often times they give a hundred dollars off a package and things like that."

Still not convinced you need the expo to help plan your wedding? The expo will also have their coveted $1,000 cash grand prize giveaway at each of the showings.

Laura's Bridal owner Lonnie Cross explained the money vendors pay to be a part of the show is used for advertising, but for the last two years they have cut back to save a little bit for the grand prize.

For brides, grooms and anyone they wish to bring along to the expo, tickets are $8. This money is not a part of the grand prize, but instead 100 percent of the proceeds goes to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
