OTTG Writers' Cooperative to stage Ten-Minute Scenes

NORTH CREEK - Our Town Theatre Group's Writers' Cooperative will present its second annual performance, titled "Five by Four: Evolution" Saturday, Jan. 10 at 7:30 p.m. at Tannery Pond Community Center.

Open to anyone willing to try his hand at playwriting, the Writers' Cooperative prepares and workshops individual scenes from February through October the group recruits directors and actors from among OTTG members and stages an evening of selected scenes.

The performance is free, as is the wine-and-cheese reception that follows it.

This year, writers Wes Dingman, Bob Foley, Judi Gross, and George Wager set themselves the task of preparing scenes with an Adirondack connection and an emphasis on moments of transition. Directed by Bob Foley, Greg Gross, Judi Gross, and Dennis Wilson, the scenes range from historical and philosophical subjects to science fiction. One scene is a collaborative effort, written jointly by all four playwrights, partly in response to October's economic meltdown.

Actors include Ann Hornbeck, John Gable, Dennis Wilson, Wendy Joy-Hayes, Brenda Foley, Megan O'Neill, Bob Foley, Brian O'Connor, Jesse Yates, George Wager, Dominick Falzano, Mike Corey, Wes Dingman, Judi Gross, Mary Beth Sclafani, Brenda White, Alma Alvarez, and Sue Davis. Colleen Doyle is technical supervisor.
