Dafayette named to AVCS principalship

While Defayette said she is excited about becoming part of the AVCS team, she said she will miss her friends, colleagues and the students of the Saranac Central School District.

"It's been wonderful. I really can't say enough about the folks there," Defayette said of the Saranac school district. "I think that my experience as the assistant principal for the last two and a half years certainly helped me to feel prepared to take this next step."

Saranac Central School District superintendent Kenneth O. Cringle said Defayette has "admirably served" the district during her short time there. He further credited her with having the necessary work experience to make her "an effective administrator from day one."

"Her genuine concern for the overall welfare of students and parents is quite evident," Cringle said. "This individual quality contributed significantly to her effectiveness and success in her position ... The Saranac Central School District will miss Aimee's leadership skills but we wish her well in her new position."
