Bristol storytellers meet at booth

BRISTOL - Writer Kerry K. Skiffington and librarian Nancy Wilson have established a short-term "Story Corps" style booth on the model of a public radio project. The booth will be operational through February or early March

Bristol residents or others with Bristol stories are invited to share stories of life in this town in particular. The impetus for the booth is Skiffington's desire to get the input of Bristol people to a book she is writing tentatively entitled "Remembering Bristol".

Skiffington has written a number of historic pieces for local papers and national glossies, including the Middlebury College alumni magazine, and two books, one about a community in rural Scotland, the other a how-to for adoptive nursing. Her biographical screenplay about Wilson "Snowflake" Bentley was awarded honorable mentions in two international screenplay contests in 2001 but has not been produced. Skiffington is known locally for her hypnotherapy practice.

The booth will be open during the library's regular open hours, Monday 10-5; Tuesday and Thursday 10-8; Wednesday and Friday1-5; and Saturday 9-1. For more information call either Wilson at the library at 453-2366 or Skiffington at 453-5411.
