TICONDEROGA - Some International paper Co. workers in Ticonderoga are facing temporary lay offs.
Citing a decline in orders, the local mill will lay off 4-10 people for two weeks.
"During the weeks of Feb 23 and March 2 we have scheduled some downtime on two of our sheet finishing lines as we continue to match our supply to our customer demand," said Donna Wadsworth, Ti mill spokeswoman. "During this period between 4 and 10 employees will experience some layoff time."
The Ticonderoga mill has about 600 employees.
The Ticonderoga mill is capable of producing 850 tons a day of high-quality, uncoated, freesheet paper for commercial printing, home and office use.
