Couple welcomes new arrival

Kristen Prevost and John O'Neill III of Athol are proud to announce the birth of a son Friday Feb. 6 at Glens Falls Hospital. The boy weighted 6 pounds 10 ounces and was 19.5 inches long. The baby was named Dylan Thomas. Proud grandparents are Lorie Wood of Athol and James Prevost of Glens Falls; and Julie and John O'Neill Sr. of Warrensburg.

Special days to be celebrated

Birthday wishes go out to George Burkhardt on Feb. 27; to Edna Kenyon, Cindy Metzger, Marilyn Baker and Hilda Haskell on Feb. 28; and to a couple who claims not to have birthdays on Feb. 29, Gaileyee and Jerry Lucia. March birthdays include Jackie Dingman, Rickie Bartlett, Mattie Castro, Tammy Moon and Melissa Vanselous all on March 1; to Cory Chadwell and Nereida Howe on March 2; to David Robinson Sr. on March 3; to Ken Baker and Ken Gossen on March 4; and Darrin Needham, Maxine Cameron, Tanecia Haskell and Ruth Wood on March 5.

Happy Anniversary wishes go out to Hilda and Don Haskell, celebrating 25 years on March 3.

Community groups to meet

The Thurman emergency squad welcomes any new volunteers to help on the squad. We are in need of folks as medical technicians, drivers, and general help to assist in lifting patients. The next meeting is on Sunday March 8 at 6 p.m. at the squad building on High St. Those seeking to help out in their community are urged to call 23-9810 for information.

The Thurman Volunteer Fire Co. meets 7 p.m. Monday March 2 at the Athol firehouse. Anyone seeking to join and volunteer their talents are urged to stop by the meeting for a run-down on the activities of the members.
