Marathon class at rec center

The Rutland Recreation Department is offering two new 12 week programs for those preparing for triathlons and marathons. The marathon class starts Wednesday, March 4, and will be held Wednesdays from 6-7:30 p.m. at Rutland High School and Saturdays from 8- 9:30 a.m. at Dana Recreation Center.

The triathlon class starts Thursday, March 5, and will be held Thursdays at 6-7:30 p.m. and Sundays 8-9:30 a.m. at the Dana Recreation Center.

The fee is $10 per program for residents of Rutland City and $20 per program for non-residents. The instructor is Matt Soroka who has competed in triathlons, marathons and mountain running since 2000.
