NORTH CREEK - The March exhibit at Tannery Pond Community Center's Widlund Gallery will feature paintings, sculptures and pottery by many area children from Feb. 27, till March 25. All are invited to an "Artists' Reception" on Saturday, March 7, from 5:30- 6:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
The young artists have participated in past TPCCA Art and Nature Camps, and in the recent After School Art Club, which is offered through the Johnsburg Youth Committee.
Art & Nature Camp "masterpieces" will include paintings, drawings, marbled paper or fabric creations, sculpture, clay pieces, felted pieces created during the popular summer day camp. The camp has separate sessions for 4-6 year-olds, 7-12 year olds, and a "big kids" session for ages 10 and up. The upcoming 2009 Art & Nature Camp will center around the theme of Oil Painting and Animals - pick up a brochure at the TPCC Widlund Gallery, during our month-long exhibit!
"Animal Action" sculpture works will be on display, from over twenty 2nd to 6th graders who joined the first session of the After School Art Club. This program is offered through the Johnsburg Youth Committee, with financial support of the Tannery Pond Community Center Association. A second session is planned.
