Local chef receives regional award

LAKE GEORGE - Dale Miller, general manager and executive chef at The Inn at Erlowest has received the American Culinary Federation's Chef Professionalism Award for the Northeast Region. The award was announced at the federation's northeastern U.S. conference Feb. 9 in Boston.

Miller, a Certified Master Chef, is now a candidate for the national award, which will be presented at federation's national convention in July.

Miller received his culinary education at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park and graduated in the top three percent of his class.

His career highlights include opening his own restaurant, Stone Ends Restaurant in Albany at age 26, becoming a certified master chef at age 36, and being inducted into the American Academy of Chefs in 1999. He has received many culinary awards, including an ACF President's Medallion in 2007.
