ATHOL - Thurman's Bargain Basement of pre-owned goods available at no charge for local residents will close April 1, and town officials express thanks to everyone who donated. New donations include baby cloths, a crib and a changing table.
The Thurman Food Pantry is still available for those struggling to make ends meet. The shelves are well-stocked with a great variety of food, according to Town Council member Ruth Keller. She expressed a "huge Thank You" to scout regional leader Lisa Baker, her 18 troop leaders and their 76 or so Girl Scouts for their generous food donation delivered to the Thurman Food Pantry Feb. 7. The food pantry is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.to serve local residents.
