NORTH CREEK - The Town of Johnsburg Library is presenting a Fiber Arts Series funded in part with public funds by the New York State Council on the Arts Decentralization Program and Warren County, administered locally by the Lower Adirondack Regional Arts Council.
The first presentation is a series of three classes offering knitting instruction. Judy Blanchette and Pam McLoughlin of Adirondack Woolery in Newcomb are teaching beginning and intermediate knitters how to cast on stitches and, using basic stitches, knit a scarf or hat to take home.
On Saturday, March 14, at 2 p.m. the Fiber Arts series continues when Kathryn Greenwold presents a 1-hour lecture and trunk show on "Quilts of Upstate New York." On March 28 Kathryn Greenwold will return with a 4-hour workshop using a pattern commemorating the Battle of Saratoga. Bring your own red, white, and blue fabrics or another combination of three colors if preferred, a sewing machine, and cutting tools. You will create a block to use as a wall hanging or to start a quilt. Class size is limited so please call (518) 251-4343.
