SCHROON LAKE - A teen faces a felony charge after he and two others were caught allegedly smoking marijuana in the basement of Schroon Lake Central School.
State police reported Shawn M. Walsh, 17, Bryan C. Walsh, 16, and a 15-year-old juvenile were caught Feb. 13. They reportedly admitted smoking marijuana and were arrested at the Schroon Lake state police station Feb. 14.
Shawn Walsh was charged with two counts of second-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a felony, because he allegedly provided the marijuana to his brother and the juvenile, both under 18. He was also charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, all misdemeanors.
Shawn Walsh was arraigned before Minerva Town Justice Arthur Liberty and remanded to Essex County Jail on $500 cash/$1,000 bond.
Bryan Walsh was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana. He was given an appearance ticket.
The Walsh brothers are due in Schroon Lake Town Court at 2 p.m. Feb. 25.
The juvenile was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana. He was referred to the Essex County Probation Department.
