BRANDON:

Evelyn K. Rongo, age 82, died Feb. 5, 2009 at her home in Brandon. She was born in New Brunswick, N.J. on Feb. 17, 1926. She was the daughter of Theodore and Barbara (Yaniszyn) Koladije. She had been a resident of Brandon since 1975. She had worked at Central Vermont Public Service before retiring. Memorial gmay be made, in her memory to the Brandon Area Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 232, Brandon 05733.

RUTLAND:

Suzanne B. Houle, age 59, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009, at the Pines of Rutland. She was born in Granby, Quebec, Canada on May 5, 1949.She has been a resident of Rutland for more than 35 years. Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made to the Pines of Rutland, Recreation Fund for the residents, 99 Allen St., Rutland 05701.

Donald Neil Rideout died at Haven Healthcare in Rutland, Jan. 16, 2009. He was born July 3, 1932 in Portland, Maine. He joined the U.S. Army, and rose to the rank of captain; he taught ROTC at Harvard University. In 1965 he was honorably discharged from the Army, and moved his family to Brandon. He taught science at Otter Valley Union High School. He coached soccer and cross-country skiing, and founded several clubs. To acknowledge his love of books, donations may be made to the Brandon Free Public Library.

FORESTDALE:

Rhoda Elizabeth Haskell, age 97, died Feb. 3, 2009, at Helen Porter Center in Middlebury.She was born in Brandon on Feb. 24, 1911. In 1977 she moved back to Forestdale to be near her son and family. Mr. Haskell died Dec. 11, 2001. Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made, in her memory, to the Rutland County Humane Society, 765 Stevens Rd., Pittsford 05763.

Mary Miller Maheu, age 93, died Jan. 20, 2009 at Helen Porter Center in Middlebury. She was born in DekelaSelo, Yugoslavia on March 27, 1915. She immigrated to America, with her family in 1921, coming through Ellis Island. She came to Brandon with her husband in the early 1960s. Together they owned and operated Brandon Electronics for many years. Memorial gifts may be made, in her memory to Addison County Home Health and Hospice.

SUDBURY:

Herbert Edwin Clark, Jr., age 71, died Jan. 22, 2009, at his home in Sudbury. He was born in Brandon on Jan. 11, 1938. From 1957 until 1963 he served in the U.S. Army Reserve. He opened Clark's Sawmill in Brandon in 1972. He continued dairy farming as well, and just recently retired to due illness. He was a past member of Masonic Lodge 25 in Brandon. Memorial gifts may be made, in his memory to the Brandon Area Rescue Squador to the Rutland County Humane Society.
