Pet owners must make tough decisions sometimes

This week's featured pet has a chronic health condition of her own, but fortunately, one that can be easily managed. Lady is a Labrador Retriever/mix who is a longtime resident of the shelter. When she originally arrived, she had a litter of puppies with her, which have since been adopted. She has become a much-loved resident at the shelter due to her playful personality and love of toys. Despite the fact that she has a few grey hairs, she has never been one to show her age. Lady is truly a sweetheart, and she's looking for a home where she can become the queen. She'll fit right in if there are no other cats and dogs. She's a special needs dog, who has recently been diagnosed with diabetes, and she will need insulin shots to keep her healthy. She's got some great, loving years left for the right person.

If you have any concerns about adopting Lady, or any other special-needs pet, you can ask our shelter staff about the care any of our animals is currently receiving. They can explain exactly how much time and money is required to keep the animal happy and healthy. Stop by today to meet Lady and our other special animals, who are eagerly awaiting their forever homes!
