Event will showcase local talent

VERGENNES - The Vergennes Lions Club announces their fourth annual Musical Variety Show to be held Saturday, Feb. 28. The event will be held at the Vergennes Union High School auditorium at 7 p.m.

Tickets are available at the Clock Shop on Green Street or Jackman Fuels, Inc. on Main Street in Vergennes. Adult tickets cost $10, $5 for children 12 years old and under.

This musical variety show has been growing each year, providing an opportunity for local acts to show their talents. Blues music will be provided by the Bitter Sweet Blues Band. George Corwin will entertain with his vocals and guitar. The Vermont Ukulele Society is a local group that provides good fun entertainment to groups and shows around Addison County and beyond.

The group Busted Bricks is a Vergennes Union High School band that last year won the Battle of the Bands at VUHS, they are said to be the hottest band in town.

Recording artists Snake Mountain Bluegrass will highlight the show. They are a local Bluegrass band from Addison County. They are very well known to bluegrass fans.

For further information contact the Vergennes Lions Club event chair, Barry McDonald at 877-3677. This concert supports charitable projects of the Vergennes Lions Club, including building handicap ramps, eye glasses and hearing aids, scholarships, the food shelf and much more.
