Whitehall Police join VSP to solve drug store robberies

Whitehall Police officers (N.Y.) have interviewed a man who was in the area of an armed robbery that occured at an area CVS. The observer said a vehicle parked suspiciously in a loading dock area on a street next to CVS. Two males were in the vehicle. When the observer walked past the area after police cars arrived on the scene, the vehicle was gone.

The vehicle was described as being an older model, white VW Jetta, squared-shaped, between the model years 1993 and 1998. It was reported that the vehicle appeared to be standard with no aftermarket body add-ons and no outstanding identifying marks or rust.

A male driver was observed and described as being tanned with darker mid-length hair that curled at the ends. He was further described as being clean shaven and possibly in his mid to early 20s. No description of the passenger was given.

It is believed the passenger may have been the suspect in the armed, interstate robberies at the Rite Aid in West Rutland and the CVS in Whitehall. The subject is described as a white male, 18 to 20 years old, clean shaven, with a "baby face". He is reported to be between 5'11" and 6'3" tall, closely cropped dirty blond to brown hair.

Anyone with possible information is requested to call Det. Sgt. Abdelnour Vermont State Police 8773-9101, or Chief Dickinson Whitehall Police 518-795-8481.
