Landlord agrees to payments, improvements

BURLINGTON - A Burlington-area landlord agreed to make payments and improvements to properties totaling at least $90,900 as a part of a settlement with the Vermont Attorney General's Office for violations of Vermont's lead and consumer fraud laws, Vermont Attorney General William H. Sorrell announced last week.

Sisters and Brothers Investment Group, LLP, agreed, in addition to performing all maintenance that the law requires, to spend $68,900 in lead hazard reduction improvements at its properties and to pay the State of Vermont at least $22,000 in civil penalties for filing false compliance documents in connection with the state's enforcement action.
