BEEKMANTOWN - A local teenager has died following injuries sustained from a two-car motor vehicle accident in the town of Beekmantown Dec. 28.
Morgin B. Baker, 17, Mooers, was pronounced dead at 8:30 p.m., while awaiting transport to Fletcher Allen Health Care Facility in Burlington, Vt. According to state police, Morgin Baker was a 2008 Pontiac north on State Route 22 when she lost control of the vehicle on the snow covered roads and traveled into the southbound lane. Baker's vehicle reportedly struck a 2000 Chevrolet S-10 pick up truck operated by Barbara Ann Provost, 48, West Chazy.
Morgin Baker and her two passengers, Rodney C. Baker, 46, and Britney N. Baker, 20, were transported by ambulance to CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.
Rodney Baker and Britney Baker were listed in stable condition.
Provost was also transported to CVPH for treatment and later released.
Dr. Deonarayan Saha performed Morgin Baker's autopsy Dec. 29 and determined the cause of death to be blunt force trauma due to a motor vehicle accident. Clinton County Coroner David Donah ruled the manner of death as accidental.
