Record falls in Sentinel win

Ticonderoga won in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference boys indoor track Dec. 19.

Ti scored 63 points, edging Beekmantown by a point. Plattsburgh was third with 47 and Saranac lake fourth with 12.

Jonathan Granger led the Sentinels, winning the long jump with a section record of 22 feet, 1 inch. The old mark of 21-8 1/2 was set in 1996 by Matt Nicoll of Seton Catholic.

Granger also won the 55-meter dash and ran a leg on the winning 640-meter relay team.

Luke Bartlett won the triple jump and ran a leg on the winning 640-meter relay team for the locals.

Michael Barber ran a leg on the winning 640-meter relay team and was second in the 55 hurdles and 300 run.

Kelly Dunn ran a leg on the winning 640-meter relay team and took second in the long jump and fifth in the 55 sprint.

Josh Cook won the 1,000-meter run and Jay Hebert won the 55 Hurdles for Ti.

Jay Berube was second in the 600 run, Kevin Densmore third in the 1,000 run, Pat Lonergan fourth in the 300 and Arto Nadeau fifth in the long jump for the winners.

Ticonderoga took third place in a hotly-contested girls meet. The Sentinels had 45 points. Beekmantown won with 49 points and Plattsburgh had 47 1/2.

Jordana Green won the 600-meter run and ran a leg on the winning 3,200-mete relay team for Ti.

Courtney Shaner won the 55 hurdles and Emilee Namer took the high jump for the locals.

Becky Barber ran a leg on the winning 3,200-mete relay team and was second in the 600.

Katie Karkoski ran a leg on the winning 3,200-mete relay team and was third in the 1,500-meter run.

Tabitha Taylor ran a leg on the winning 3,200-mete relay team and was third in the 1,000 run.

Jordan Quesnel was second in the shot put, Markie teRiele fourth in the 1,500, Kristion Gibbs fifth in the shot and Brittany Holt fifth in the 1,000 for Ticonderoga.
