Bridal show slated

LAKE GEORGE - The Adirondack Wedding Association of Glens Falls has announced the annual Dunham's Bay Bridal Weekend 2010, featuring over 35 vendors, free admission, free vendor sampling and over $6,000 in prizes including a free wedding giveaway from Dunham's Bay Resort and other AWA members.

"This annual event is produced in conjunction with Total Entertainment of Glens Falls, and Dunham's Bay Resort of Lake George," said Mark Brenneisen, president of Champion Services Group, Inc., which also promotes and runs the annual Six Flags Fall Bridal and Prom Expo as well as other major tourist events in the area. "It's an amazing weekend of free entertainment, vendor sampling, wedding planning ideas and the largest amount of prizes and giveaways of any Adirondack region bridal event."

The event will be held Jan. 9 and 10 at Dunham's Bay Resort, located in Lake George at 2999 State Route 9L.

Saturday's events begin at 5 p.m. with musical showcases, meet-n-greets with vendors, free food, cash bar and over $2,500 in prizes. It continues from 9 p.m. to midnight with dancing and fun for all brides and grooms and as many guests as they want to bring to celebrate their engagements.

Sunday's bridal show runs from noon - 3 p.m. and showcases over 35 AWA members and non-members, displaying the best in wedding services and supplies. Prizes include another $2,500 in gift certificates and concludes with the winner of the grand prize, a free Dunham's Bay & AWA wedding package. All winners must be present.

"Total Entertainment, Inc. is the official host and on-site event producer," said Brenneisen. "There is no cost to attend and all registered brides will receive the 2010 Denton Publications Bridal Magazine."

Brenneisen continued, "The major sponsors are Dunham's Bay Resort, Denton Publications, Total Entertainment and the Adirondack Wedding Association. We have also submitted to Warren County Tourism for funding for this event which draws brides from all over New York and surrounding states. Each year, we are selling more and more hotel rooms and bringing more brides to the area for their Lake George Region destination weddings."

The official website for brides to pre-register at is www.adkwc.com. Full information regarding the weekend is also available at that location. One lucky bride who pre-registers by Jan. 3 will receive a free night's stay at the resort Saturday, Jan. 9.
