Public Health to hold H1N1 flu clinic

ELIZABETHTOWN - The Essex County Public Health Department will be offering a community H1N1 flu clinic for people within the CDC Target Groups on Monday, Dec. 21 between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. by appointment only at their facility at 132 Water St.

CDC Target Groups include pregnant women, people who live with or care for children younger than six months of age, healthcare and emergency medical services personnel, persons between the ages of six months and 24 years old, and people age 25-64 who have chronic health disorders or compromised immune systems.

Children through nine years of age who need the second dose of H1N1 vaccine will also be served at this clinic. The recommended space between doses of H1N1 flu vaccine is 28 days. For the Dec. 21 clinic children would need to have received their first dose on or before Nov. 23.
