"I think [reading] is something that you and you alone have," she explained. "It's never taken away from you. It's a privilege."
"[Reading] opens up a world that you can escape into," Dupee added. "You can learn anything. You can imagine anything. It's just a different world. It fulfills all your fantasies and expectations."
Dupee is currently looking for volunteers to help at the library. She hopes to reorganize the books and put them in a database.
"I don't have a Friends of the Library group ... I'm the only employee here," she explained.
If interested in assisting Dupee, or for more information, call 493-6131. The library is open Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Dupee added she is looking for a book stand for soft-covered books. Anyone interested in donating one or helping to raise money for one, contact the library.
