Patriots keeping pace

CLINTONVILLE - The AuSable Valley boys basketball team finished with a 13-9 overall record last year, and barely missed the Division II title. Though they lost some key players to graduation, the team is hoping for continued success in the CVAC.

The Patriots will be young this year, featuring three sophomores and six juniors with only three seniors returning for the 2009-2010 season.

Among those returning is junior T.J. Burl, who led the team in rebounds and blocks his sophomore year, and was second in scoring with over nine points per game. Another junior, Jordan Coolidge, also saw plenty of time on the court last year, amassing 25 3-pointers over the course of the season.

"We intend to be competitive with our signature tenacious defense," said head coach Jamie Douglass, "and look to score on transition as well as posing an offensive threat from beyond the arc."

Seniors Alex Santamaria, Alex LaFountain, and Joe Lincoln and sophomore Brody Douglass round out the starting lineup. Filling out a deep roster are juniors Justin Hart, Sean Pulsifer, Ryan Lee, and Franz Carter; and sophomores Jeremy Bombard and Connor Manning.
