Dave Reckahn of the Essex County Soil and Water District (right) presented an Agricultural Environmental Management Stewardship Award to Dale Bigelow of the Dale Lea Stock Farm in Essex Nov. 23, recognizing the farm for its efforts to conserve natural resources and protect Lake Champlain through rotational grazing, calf housing, stream buffer fencing and Ag Bag storage runoff control. These projects were funded in part through New York State AEM grants and the USDA Environmental Quality Incentives program. For more information on AEM, contact Reckahn at 962-8225.
