Ti High Chapter of Future Business Leaders of America attends meeting

TICONDEROGA - The Ticonderoga High School Chapter of Future Business Leaders of America recently attended the 2009 Fall District Meeting.

The meeting of FBLA District V schools was held in Greenwich. There are currently 12 active high school chapters in District V.

The Ticonderoga chapter, which is in its third year, was represented by 10 students from the high school. The students attending were John Ferguson, Jon Granger, Jordana Green, Kenny Johnston, Dillon Lafferty, Karney Manning, Tanner Purkey, Rachel Rafferty, Tim Robbins and Ralph Todd.

Also attending was club adviser Bill Morse, business teacher at the high school and chaperone Anne Marie Elethorp.

The meeting included workshops Dress for Success/Code of Conduct, Team Building, Resume & Portfolio, Parliamentary Procedures, Building Dynamic Websites with Open Source Software, and Ronald McDonald House Charity. Additionally there was a keynote speaker, Tom Mueller, FBLA state officer team adviser.

The chapter is planning on attending the district competition to be held in Greenwich in February. Students who do well at this competition will be invited to the state competition which will be April 21-23 in Rochester.

The Ticonderoga chapter currently has 15 members and is always looking for more members. The chapter is interested in working with local businesses and meeting the town's business people.
