TICONDEROGA - The Ticonderoga boys basketball team will be short on experience this winter.
The Sentinels return just four players and have a new head coach.
Matt Cossey has taken the reins in 2009-10.
He'll build his club around veterans Robert Kearns, Dylan Overbeek, Robert teRiele and Brian Losher. They return from last season's 11-5 Champlain Valley Athletic Conference, 13-8 overall team.
New to the roster are Jessie Perkins, Tanner Purkey, Nate Lenhart, Matt Nolan, Dan Morrison, Jesse LaRose, Nick Mars, Ryan Wendell and Bryant Austin.
"All four returning players saw significant time on the court last year and each will be counted on to be a leader," Cossey said. "Newcomers Jesse Perkins, Tanner Purkey and Nate Lenhart will be expected to contribute right from the start."
Although inexperienced, the Sentinels figure to be in the hunt for another CVAC Division II and Section VII Class C title this winter.
"The league should be very competitive this year with Moriah and Ausable Valley both having very athletic and experienced teams," Cossey said. "The Division II title could come down to the last few games of the year and should make for a very exciting season."
Assisting Cossey on the bench this season is Bill Treadway.
