The regulatory review committee is composed of five senior members of Paterson's cabinet. His secretary Lawrence Schwartz, who regularly refers to himself the governor's enforcer, will chair it.
The first round of the committees review process will delve into the inner functions of the Department of Environmental Conservation, the Department of Health, the Department of State, the Department of Taxation & Finance and the State Liquor Authority.
Hook said New York State has a stigma that has been driving businesses away for years, and this measure is the Governor's attempt to change that.
"We're hoping to make changes to the more outdated and burdensome regulations that have no place in a 21st century economy," he said.
