Books, Books, Books at Tannery Pond

NORTH CREEK - The Tannery Pond Community Center in North Creek will be overflowing with books of all sizes and flavors on Friday, July 31 and Saturday, Aug. 1. The event is the annual Town of Johnsburg Library book sale, and it's going to be a great one.

Beginning with a 7 p.m. preview party on Friday evening with entertainment by the local band "Don't Quit Your Day Job," this great book sale will offer something for everyone. Admission to the preview party will be $8 per person and $15 per couple, and previewers will be entitled to buy 10 books apiece. Along with terrific refreshments, there will be a "Chinese auction," composed of items donated by area businesses (with tickets sold for bidding on the items.) The preview party fun continues until 10 p.m.

The books will be available again at Tannery Pond on Saturday Aug. 1 starting at 9 a.m. along with a fine bake sale. No admission will be charged on Saturday for either the book or bake sale; the auction will continue from the evening before. The book sale closes at 3 p.m. Saturday, so come early to get the books you're looking for. The last hour of the sale will feature the ever-popular "buck a bag" sale. Don't forget this most excellent annual event!
