Lions return solid core, look to rebuild

ELIZABETHTOWN - The Lions are hoping they can pick up where they left off, going 4-8 last season.

Elizabethtown-Lewis suffers the loss of several starters from last year's squad, including pitchers Jake Hooper and Danny Mitchell. Tyler Barton, who provided much in the way of offense last season, is not returning for his senior year.

A solid core of starters from last year will return, however, including senior Dustin Crowningshield and juniors Evan Drew, Devin Drummond, Ben Goff, Michael Gowdy, and Joshua Pierce. Drummond and Gowdy both saw time on the mound last year.

They are joined by juniors Brandon Quain, Michael Hurlburt, and Shawn LaPier, as well as sophomores Timothy LaRock, Andrew Mitchell, Hunter Mowery, and Patrick Phillips.

The Lions are coached by Jim Ratliff.
